BeReal4Compost is a project carried out within the scope of the Erasmus+ program, which has a partnership with international entities Instituto IKIGAI, located in Zaragoza, and Associação WORMS in Brussels. This project's main objective is to involve and train young people in composting initiatives in their countries, through networking and learning concrete tools that are applicable to their own realities.

From Alijó, in the Douro, to Monchique, in the Algarve, MudaTuga has already collaborated with many municipalities and other environmental consultants to implement municipal composting projects.

We work on a 360º basis from project design, framing, application and implementation, with measurement of socio-environmental impact - this is our preferred way of working, because we can create projects tailored to the needs of each client and bring innovations in the area of environmental education for behavior change. Projects to promote pro-environmental behavior are our specialty, and we offer our clients the opportunity to go one step further and go beyond simplified awareness campaigns.

In addition, we also partner with consultants and act as experts in domestic and community composting and biowaste collection planning, as well as offering consultancy for plans to implement waste tariffs in 2025 and municipal waste management plans (PAPERSU 2030 ).

The "Compostuga®" APP represents an innovative approach to quantifying domestic and community composting that integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, gamification and the collection of data on biowaste produced in real time.

This is a useful tool for Portuguese municipalities, given the mandatory differentiated collection of bio-waste and its monitoring since January 2024, and it also works as a habit tracker for all those passionate about composting across the country!

Developed by MudaTuga and with the support of ABAAE, the book aims to raise awareness among younger audiences and teach them about topics such as: composting, the nutrient cycle, recycling and sustainability.

The content portrays the story of a child, Eva, who accepts the challenge of changing her behaviors to become more sustainable and become a member of the secret society of Composting Ninjas. Throughout her journey, Eva discovers more about the fate of bio-waste, in particular, in the contexts in which she operates, such as her home and school. But who knows if this will be the starting point for changing other mentalities! The book will be available for purchase through the Betweien website and in our online store, in addition to many physical or online sustainable stores, bookstores and some science centers across the country!

For schools, we offer visits with lively book readings, mini vermicomposting workshops and tailor-made school composting projects! The “Close the Cycle” project began as a day of immersion in conscious cooking, composting and urban vegetable gardens, a partnership between MudaTuga, Blog da Spice and Hortas Lx!

The initial activity was made up of 3 workshops to learn how to close the cycle over the course of a day of immersion at Quinta do Morgado Lusitano.

"Escola a Compostar" is a collaboration between Zero Waste Lab, Mudatuga and Hortas Lx, started in 2021 and financed by the Environmental Fund (Notice no. 6700/2021).

This school offers a free online platform full of technical resources about composting, suitable for any location, be it an apartment or an area with limited space.

This complete approach makes "Escola a Compostar" a reference for anyone who wants to learn and apply composting in everyday life, not only promoting this practice, but also empowering people with knowledge and tools to adopt sustainable practices.
